Narrative coherence in Digenes Akrites (G)

چکیده
This article argues that coherence in medieval narratives was perceived differently than it is modern literature, offering an analysis of principles Digenes Akrites which seem to have been more relevant for its original audiences. Drawing on contemporary narratology and recent research comparable western works, the author does not search one sole superordinate principle, but rather so-called structures mid-range coherence. The contains some examples such ‘centres gravity’ – schema, scene meaning G version.
